Lottery
A store that sells the state lottery keeps track of two things every day: the instant tickets sold out of the books on display, and the draw game sales and winnings the lottery terminal reports. The lottery pages count the books, take the terminal's figures, and compare both with the lottery sales and payouts rung on the register.
| Menu | Store > Lottery count, Store > Lottery books, Store > Lottery terminal, Store > Lottery games, Store > Lottery boxes, Settings > Lottery |
| Permission | View the lottery; Receive, activate and count lottery books (to change them) |
| Feature | Lottery |
What you see depends on your role. If the menu, a button or a setting on this page is missing, ask your administrator to give you the permission listed above or to turn on the feature. Only administrators can turn features on and change site settings.
Before you start
- Store > Lottery games: add each instant ticket game you sell, with its Game number (the first three digits of the barcode on the book), Ticket price and Tickets per book. Games change often, so the list starts empty; mark a game inactive when the lottery ends it.
- Store > Lottery boxes: the display boxes on the counter. The c-store setup adds Box 1 to Box 12; rename, reorder (Position) or add boxes to match your counter.
- Settings > Lottery: the sales categories your register rings lottery sales and payouts under. The c-store setup chooses Lottery and Lottery payouts.
Receive a book
- Open Store > Lottery books.
- Scan the book's barcode into Scan the barcode, or leave it empty, pick the Game and type the Book number.
- Select Receive.
The game stays selected, so you can scan a whole delivery one book after the other. A book of the same game and number already in is refused, and so is a barcode whose game is not in your list.
Put a book on display
On a received book, pick a free Box, enter the first ticket to sell (0 for a new book, or where a partly sold book starts) and select Activate. The book is counted from that day. One box holds one book at a time.
Return sends a received or displayed book back to the lottery; it leaves the count from that day.
Count the books
- Open Store > Lottery count at the close of the day.
- For each book, enter the next ticket to sell under Closed at. A sold-out book closes at its last ticket.
- Select Save the count.
The page shows the tickets Sold and their Amount for each book, and the instant tickets sold in all. The next day each book opens where it closed; a sold-out book leaves the count. You can correct an earlier day: the days after it open from the corrected count when you save them again.
Enter the terminal's figures
Open Store > Lottery terminal, copy the figures from the terminal's daily sales report (draw sales, cancels, promotions, coupons, and the draw and instant winnings paid) and select Save.
Compare with the register
The count and terminal pages show, for the day:
- Lottery sales: the instant tickets counted plus the net draw sales (sales less cancels, promotions and coupons).
- Rung on the register: the daily sales of the lottery categories.
- Sales difference: counted less rung. A negative difference means tickets sold that were not rung; a positive one, rung but not counted.
- Payouts difference: the winnings the terminal paid less the payouts rung.
Look into any difference before closing the day.
